The Full Story

I'm Anushka Singh — the founder of Kathalyst, where I help organizations untangle decades of legacy code and reimagine their tech stacks with AI. If that sounds like a weirdly specific niche, that's because it is. And I love it.

My consulting work spans COBOL modernization, AI strategy, and building products that actually ship. When I'm not debugging mainframes or advising startups, I'm a trained Kathak dancer, bringing the same discipline and precision to the stage that I bring to a codebase.

I believe the best work happens at intersections — of art and engineering, of old and new, of tradition and innovation. The kind of work that makes people go "wait, the same person does both of those things?"

// yes, the same person does both of those things

Things I Believe

// strong opinions, loosely held (most of the time)
01

Intersections Create Value

The most interesting work happens where different disciplines meet. My best insights about code come from dance, and my best insights about performance come from engineering. Fight me.

02

Old Code Deserves Respect

That COBOL system running your bank? It's survived 40 years of changes, edge cases, and business logic. Don't dismiss it — understand it, then improve it. It's earned that much.

03

Ship, Then Polish

I'd rather ship something useful today than design something perfect that never launches. Iterative improvement beats theoretical perfection every single time. The whiteboard won't save you.

04

Discipline Is Freedom

In Kathak, strict rhythm gives you the framework to improvise freely. In code, good architecture lets you move fast. Constraints enable creativity. Yes, I will die on this hill.

Say hi. Seriously.

I'm always open to interesting conversations, weird collaborations, and consulting gigs that actually challenge me. The worst I can say is "I'm booked." (But probably not.)
